Svea Solar, the largest installer of solar cells in Sweden, risks being banned from installing solar cells due to several serious incidents.

The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority has received several reports of serious incidents at Svea Solar and questions whether the company follows its self-monitoring program, reports Realtid.

Risks installation ban

Several accidents where the company’s employees were electrocuted in connection with installation work have occurred and previously the Work Environment Agency has had opinions about the company’s work with fall risks.

The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority believes that the incidents are so serious that Svea Solar is now at risk of being banned from installing solar cells if the company does not immediately introduce improvements, writes Realtid.

The Swedish Electricity Safety Agency does not question Svea Solar’s self-inspection program, but whether it is really being followed in the way that the company states.

Takes the views seriously

By May 31 at the latest, Svea Solar must respond to the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority’s questions about routines, regulatory compliance and support for installers.

Johannes Boson is responsible for Svea Solar’s Swedish operations, he tells Realtid that the company takes the opinions of the Swedish Electricity Safety Agency and the Swedish Work Environment Agency very seriously.

He points out that from 2019 onwards, Svea Solar has done around 20,000 installations, and that, percentage-wise, only a small part has gone wrong, writes Realtid.
