But we already know that he will, among other things, discuss the Swedish inflation – which seems to be going in exactly the right direction.
“The latest outcome was significantly lower than our forecast,” says the governor of the Riksbank, signaling that purchasing power may return.
The US can catch on
Despite the fact that both households and interest-sensitive companies, not least the construction sector, have had a very tough time, the recession is milder than feared.
Although GDP growth has been weak, employment remains high.
At the same time, the situation in the USA stands out with higher growth and inflation than expected. In the long run, this could affect inflation in Sweden.
“A higher interest rate in the outside world could also affect the krone,” says Thedéen.

He emphasizes, however, that the Riksbank does not follow the actions of other central banks, but that its monetary policy is guided by the inflationary pressure in Sweden.
The Riksbank has flagged for a first interest rate cut in May or June.
Whether that happens depends entirely on the inflation forecast continuing to look positive, which will be evaluated before the next interest rate decision to be taken in two weeks.
