Fredrik Axby, acting division manager for Energy & Industry in Sweco Sweden, highlights a number of factors for the development.

– There are several reasons why this is happening right now, such as higher prices for carbon dioxide emissions, new investments, regulations, the EU regulation on net zero industry and a higher demand for sustainable products from end customers. Considering the geopolitical situation, it is important that Europe and Sweden have domestic processing, he says in a press release.

In Sweco’s analysis, a number of Swedish projects around green steel are highlighted.

– Thanks to technological progress and automation, we can now handle the entire production chain within the country, which gives us a strategic advantage to meet the increased demand for sustainably produced materials, says Fredrik Axby.
