The government wants to raise the wage floor for labor immigration to over SEK 34,000 so that only highly qualified people come to Sweden. But a new report shows that more than half of those affected have college degrees, reports Di.

According to the report from the Swedish Business Association, 51 percent of those who are between today’s requirements and the stricter level are university-educated, the rest are educated or qualified in the shortage force, according to Karin Johansson, vice president of the Swedish Business Association.

“Despite the fact that the government so clearly says that Sweden should be an attractive country for highly qualified labor, they target academics with precise precision,” she tells the newspaper.
