Anna Thörn has been given a new position as university director at Linköping University, reports SVT. She tells the channel that there is nothing that forces her away from the region, and that she is not looking to move away from something but to something else.
August 15 will be her last working day as regional director.
The chairman of the regional board, Elin Norén (S), will call an extraordinary council meeting on Monday to begin the recruitment of a new director.
– I think we will have an acting deputy for a while, but it depends on who we find and when it can be available, she tells SVT.
Anna Thörn is basically a teacher and started as regional director after being municipal director in Norrköping. On April 1, 2023, she succeeded the deputy regional director Karin Stikå Mjöberg, who jumped in after the short-lived regional director Anders Friberg. Friberg only worked at the post for about six months and had to leave the position due to a lack of leadership.
