Strong sales, record high earnings and growing market shares as the rollout of Scania Super continues.

• Scania’s net sales increased by 20 percent to SEK 55.1 billion (45.8)

• Adjusted operating profit amounted to SEK 8.0 billion (6.2) and adjusted operating margin was 14.5 percent (13.5)

• Vehicle deliveries increased by 17 percent to 26,496 vehicles, of which 47 (74) were zero-emission vehicles

• Cash flow within vehicles and services amounted to SEK 7.1 billion (5.0)

• Sales of services increased by 3 percent adjusted for currency effects

• Order intake for trucks increased by 7 percent to 20,171 vehicles, of which 133 (47) were zero-emission vehicles

Global demand for trucks remains stable and is supported by sustained utilization and a need to replace the truck fleet. The recovery in Latin America, mainly driven by the strong development in the agricultural and mining sectors in Brazil, continued and more than compensated for the somewhat more normalized market demand in Europe.

Scania’s extensive work to create a more resilient flow from order to delivery of vehicles has resulted in increased volume, shorter lead times and improved delivery precision. Profitability was positively affected by the increased volume and improved capacity utilization.

– Scania’s sales were strong and we are delivering our best operating profit ever during a quarter. This success is due to high production volumes with deliveries increasing by 17 percent compared to last year. In addition, the rollout of our fuel-efficient Scania Super has increased our market shares, comments CEO Christian Levin.
