The health problem that claims the most lives in Sweden each year is cardiovascular disease. One of the biggest risk factors is high cholesterol.
Elevated cholesterol values can be due to underlying diseases such as type 2 diabetes, rheumatism or the hereditary disease familial hypercholesterolemia, hereditary high blood pressure.
