Actor Meg Bennett is dead.
She is best known for her role in the soap opera “Young and the Restless”.
Meg Bennett died of cancer on April 11, the family said in an obituary published in the Los Angeles Times on Sunday.
“Until the end, she was dedicated to working with children, writing and committed to family and friends,” they write.
Meg Bennett played Julia Newman in the American television soap “Young and the Restless” between 1980 and 2002. She made shorter comebacks in the series in 2018 and 2020.
The actor also worked as a screenwriter for “General hospital” from and to between 1993 and 2011 and wrote a total of 197 episodes. She has also produced scripts for “Sunset beach” and “Glamour”.

Won script award
Together with other screenwriters, she was nominated for several Daytime Emmy Awards for her soap scripts and in 1995 she won the award for the screenplay for “General hospital”.

Bennett is survived by her husband and screenwriter Robert Guza Jr whom she met while working on “General hospital” and two bonus daughters.
She was 75 years old.
