Lap-See Lam and Nina Hemmingsson are two recipients of the City of Stockholm’s cultural awards this year. Seven prizes in different categories are given to actors of great importance for Stockholm’s cultural life. Each culture prize winner is awarded a prize sum of SEK 100,000.
Every year, the city of Stockholm awards honorary prizes in five different categories. People or organizations that are of great importance to cultural life in Stockholm are praised. The people of Stockholm have been allowed to nominate for the cultural awards and a jury has then drawn up a proposal which has been decided by the cultural committee in the city of Stockholm.
The honorary award in art goes to the artist Lap-See Lam.
The honorary prize in literature goes to the comic creator, writer, joke and satire cartoonist Nina Hemmingsson.
The honorary award in music goes to the composer and jazz musician Bengt Ernryd.
The honorary award in performing arts goes to the director, actor and musician Lars Rudolfsson.
The honorary award for cultural work for children and young people goes to the actor, director and founder of Mittiprickteatern Cleo Boman.
Honorary awards
The Bellman Prize rewards a person who has portrayed or described Stockholm from an artistic perspective or contributed to giving a positive image of Stockholm as a city of culture. The Bellman prize goes this year to the director, dancer, choreographer and performance artist Charlotte Engelkes.

The Cullberg Prize was established to honor Birgit Cullberg’s artistic work. The award aims to encourage and reward people who are active in the art of dance, and the recipient must have made particularly valuable efforts to develop the art of dance or place Stockholm on the international dance map. This year’s prize is awarded to the choreographer Alexander Ekman.

The cultural prize winners will receive their prizes at a ceremony in Stockholm City Hall on May 28.
