Thorsten Flinck’s twin brother Richard Flinck is dying of cancer.

He tells that in the podcast “The Reunion”.

– When we were recording, I was told that I had about two months left. But it was six months ago, says Richard Flinck to Expressen.

Richard Flinck63, was diagnosed with lung cancer in the fall of 2023. He was told by the doctors that his liver was also damaged and that he did not have much time left.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance after collapsing outside.

– It was a death sentence he read out, no one survives that, what they were talking about was not that you should have a long life, but that if you’re really damn lucky, you can get by for a few years or two more years, but everything points to two weeks, he says in the podcast “The Reunion” where he and the twin brother Thorsten Flinck meet and talk about their infected relationship.

Should have had surgery

The podcast was recorded in February and in the last episode Richard Flinck is hospitalized. He is still there, he tells Expressen.

– I should have had an operation for cancer a month or so ago, but I was too weak then. So now I’m trying to recover so that I’ll be healthy enough for an operation or two operations.

The podcast
The podcast “The reunion” premiered in October 2020.

He continues:

– The staff at the hospital wouldn’t be very surprised and drop their jaws if I died last night. So the odds are not that great. But you just have to hope and do the little you can.

The season of “The reunion” is the third. It was the author Sigge Eklund which initially brought the brothers together in a final attempt at reconciliation after not seeing each other for 21 years. The podcast has previously been fringed with drama. After the first season, Richard first dropped out of the project.

“It is my decision that I am standing on my feet so far, that is, legally,” wrote Richard Flinck in an email to Aftonbladet.
