Britain’s King Charles III will resume his public duties from next week following his cancer treatment, Buckingham Palace has announced.
According to the BBC, the monarch will not carry out quite as many engagements as usual, but the setback is seen as a positive signal about the king’s health.
Among other things, Charles will receive a state visit from the Emperor of Japan. The king himself must be very “very encouraged” by the possibility of being able to start working again.
However, the notification does not mean that the cancer treatment is finished. How long it can continue is still unclear, according to the British court.
“It’s too early to tell”writes Buckingham Palace on Friday according to the BBC.
The king’s answer: “Do the best I can”
The king’s first public appearance after cancer treatment began came at the end of March. He then shook hands with several people as he attended the Easter Sunday service in Windsor, the Evening Standard reported.
When one of the visitors wished the monarch a speedy recovery, he replied:
– I’m doing as well as I can.
