The job was advertised with a note in reception and Borgs was the only applicant. Anna Borgs is married to the Moderate party’s deputy party secretary Martin Borgs, the PR expert and top manager who is responsible for the party’s communication and strategy. So the discussion about complaints and friendship corruption was not long in coming.
But who are the people behind the deal? What does their worldview look like?
This actually opens up a unique opportunity to get an insight into the inner life of an authority head. It feels a little forbidden, like reading a diary or finding secret letters, even if it’s all made public.
On Wattpad – a platform for hobby writers and those interested in literature – Anna Borgs has published three novels of her own.
The highlight is a homoerotic power epic about a cool bodyguard who falls for a conservative and mischievous member of parliament. “All I Know” is the title, and the back text reads: “How much can you sacrifice to do the right thing? What is love if no one puts it into words? What if everyone is wrong? When the nation’s hero Sam Holst is assigned the task of bodyguard for member of parliament Oliver Nordh, his world is turned upside down. ALL I KNOW is a story about existential and identity crisis, mental health and illness, and unexpected and undeniable love.”
In fifty-seven chapters I follow the characters Sam Holst and Oliver Nordh.
Sam is tattooed and Oliver likes excitement. They live in a made-up tripartite state where communist terrorists bomb and commit terrorist acts against LGBTQ-certified schools in a rebellious “North”. The homophobic communists organize themselves in the Revolt sect, which has a black flag with a white wounded bird on it, to compare with the state flag which is green with a “healthy bird” on it. They go to newspaper offices and parliaments, and among the members are gang criminals.
The book begins with a trigger warning for sensitive readers. Here, topics such as bulimia, homophobia, internalized homophobia, mental illness, misogyny, infidelity, self-injurious behavior and violence in intimate relationships will be discussed, Anna Borgs informs the reader.
Then follows a series of memes and joke pictures taken from Pinterest to calm the reader down before the action begins. The pictures say things like “dear Universe, I exist” and “seven billion people experienced today in a unique way”.
Sam goes through a real journey in over 500 pages, while the Revolt blows up building after building based on its vague homophobia. And on the last pages, Anna Borgs thanks a number of people and actors for inspiration, laughter, truth and security.

Anna Borg’s other titles are “Laban & Yvonne”, a pure love story about two students in Karlstad, and the sad novel “The Librarian’s Secret”, where Diya tells about how she finds out the truth about her deceased husband. The book covers have been made by Anna Borgs with AI and edited with VSCO and Canva.
In “Laban & Yvonne” Beyonce and Harry Styles are quoted frequently and often in connection with descriptions of sex or love. The chapters are called things like “Cause I’m Mr. Brightside”, “Lmao bet” and “post 30 year crisis”.
I cannot review the literary content of Anna Borg’s catalogue. Mostly because I don’t quite understand if it’s completely written seriously. It’s long, chaotic and bursting with inspirational quotes. Vincent Van Gogh, Agatha Christie, John Steinberg, Plato, Oscar Wilde, Albert Camus, Virginia Woolf, Franz Kafka, James Baldwin, Mary Shelley, Sylvia Plath, Voltaire, Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman and Leo Tolstoy are quoted on the same page.
At the end of “Allt jag vet,” before Borgs links to Freddie Wadling’s “Dreams,” she herself mentions her writing.
“Everyone who writes knows how damn hard it can be to get people around you to read your texts. To those of you who may have made it all the way here, I would therefore also like to thank you.”
I am disappointed that so few people around Anna Borg seem to want to read her works. It is an incredibly exciting insight into the inner workings of an authority head.
