Crimean mystery with family conflicts and nature in focus
Viaplay’s new crime series “Fenris” with Ida Elise Broch and Magnus Krepper is about a suspicious disappearance and the wolf debate. Watch the first teaser here.
IN Fenris viewers meet the biologist Emma Salomonsen (Ida Elise Broch). She has a feeling that everything is not as it should be with her father and travels home to the small village on the Swedish border. There she gets her suspicions confirmed. The father, the controversial wolf researcher Marius Stenhammar (Magnus Crepes), have found themselves in great difficulty.
In the village, a young boy has disappeared, and there are rumors that he has been killed by wolves. To her horror, Emma finds the boy’s bloody jacket at her own father’s house. This is the background to a series filled with intense action and great personal conflicts. When Emma’s father also disappears without a trace, after hinting that he carries a secret, Emma must find out what really happened.
“A series about what’s really worth fighting for”
– I wanted to make a suspense series where nature plays the main role. A story with strong characters who are willing to go to great lengths to achieve their goals. In Norway, there is nothing that arouses stronger emotions than the wolf debate. It is an explosive mixture of idealism and politics. This creates the framework for a crime mystery where family conflicts, friendship and Norwegians’ close relationship with nature are at the center. Fenris is a series about what is really worth fighting for, says the director Sim Alsvik.

In addition to the aforementioned Ida Elise Broch and Magnus Krepper, the cast consists of actors such as Cengiz Al, Helena Ødven, Jan Gunnar Røise, Wants Knutsen Bjaadal, Engjerd Egeberg and John Emil Jørgensrud who play central roles in the series.
Magnus Krepper has played in a large number of Nordic productions during his career. IN Fenris he plays the role of the slightly mysterious character Marius Stenhammar.
– I think Marius is an exciting character based on what is not told – his secrets. It was a fun role to play with a theme that touches and upsets, with a wonderful team and colleagues who made this journey possible, says Magnus Krepper.
Lead actress Ida Elise Broch is looking forward to viewers finally seeing the series:
– It’s always nervous to show something you’ve worked hard on and put a piece of your heart into. But it’s exciting. I hope the audience thinks the same, and that they think the series is great, of course, she says.
Fenris produced by producer Sigurd Mikal Karoliussen (Twin, The Tunnel) with executive producer Sweinung Golimo (Trolljägeren, Max Manus: Man of Wat) on Nordic Film Production. The main writer of the series is Simen Alsvik, Maren School and Nicholas Scherfig. Tanya Nanette Badendyck is responsible producer for Viaplay Group.
“Fenris” consists of six episodes of 45 minutes and premieres on Viaplay on Sunday, September 25.
