November 19-20, the Song of Joy choir visited Kulturbruket at Dal for the twentieth time. This is where they now place their larger projects.

This time the show was called “A Winter’s Tale” and offered both Christmas music and other things. It began with “Bered väg för Herran” with a folk melody and ended with “A song till life” and “Tonerna” from the musical “Såsom i himmelen” which is now playing in Säffle.

In between, the audience was treated to Christmas classics such as “Christmas, Christmas, Christmas”, “Nu tands tusen Yuleljus” and “Come All Ye Faithful”, the latter a funky version. The non-Christmas included “Memory of a sea”, with Amelia Skogfält as soloist, and “Do you see the moon where you are tonight”.

Song of Joy is popular in Dalsland. Both performances in Kulturbruket were completely sold out, which means close to 500 tickets sold. The audience was a mix of Mellerud residents and travelers from primarily Ed and Bengtsfors. They were on the notes from the first bar to the last, and it showed in the response from both the choir and the band Komp of Joy.

We look forward to what they have to offer next time.
