After a long fight against a racist will, Prince Gustav, 54, finally got the right to marry his great love Carina, 54.

Now the couple is expecting their first child.

With the help of a surrogate mother, they become parents at the beginning of the summer.

Soon the castle in the German town of Bad Berleburg will be filled with baby rompers and diaper changes.

Today, the happy news came from a spokesperson for the prince couple. The child is expected to arrive in May and the couple has used a surrogate mother.

“Princess Carina and Prince Gustav are very happy and grateful for this opportunity and they thank everyone involved who has helped to find a legally legal path to follow,” the press release says, according to Billed-Bladet.

Forced to fight in court

For 19 years, Gustav was forced to wait to marry Carina – and have children.

The cruel will was written by Gustav’s grandfather, Prince Gustav Albrecht of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. He demanded that his grandson marry a person who was Aryan, noble and Protestant. Otherwise he would not be allowed to inherit Berleburg Castle.

Carina did not meet any of the requirements and the prince has had to fight hard to have the will declared invalid. In the end, Germany’s highest court decided that Gustav is the rightful owner of the castle and everything that belongs to it.

Has ancestry from Sweden

Prince Gustav Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg has ancestry from both Germany, Denmark and Sweden. His mother is Princess Benedikte, who is the sister of Danish Queen Margrethe, and Gustav is thus also a cousin of our Swedish king.

Carina Axelsson, who has a Swedish-Mexican background, grew up in Tranås, Småland, where her father comes from, but also in California. She is a writer and previously worked as a photo model.

The prince couple lived together at Berleburg Castle for 19 years. They got married in June last year after the Supreme Court announced its decision.
