It was at half past seven on Friday evening that the emergency services were alerted to a single vehicle accident on Arabygatan in Växjö, south of Mörners väg.
Two people are said to have been traveling in a car which, for unknown reasons, collided with a lamp post and two trees, according to the rescue service.
Both people are said to have been taken to hospital by ambulance, the extent of their injuries is currently unknown. The road was closed for about an hour, when both the lamp post and both trees are said to have fallen across the road. The car must also have had to be towed from the scene.
