On Wednesday morning, a boy, who was under ten years old, got stuck in an elevator on the fifth floor of a house in Johanneberg. During the rescue service’s operation, he fell down the elevator shaft.
The boy has been treated for life-threatening injuries at Sahlgrenska since the accident. He has now died as a result of his injuries, Sahlgrenska’s press service announces.
The emergency services have appointed an investigation to find out how the accident could happen.
– We will of course look very carefully at what happened and how it could happen. You can look at the material, the lift, the construction and be very open about it, said Lars Klevensparr, federal director of the emergency services in Gothenburg, during Friday.
The classification will change
In connection with the accident, the police drew up a report of aggravated assault causing bodily harm.
– This affects the classification, it will change, says police spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr.
Relatives are, according to Sahlgrenska, informed.
