A fire has broken out in a block of terraced houses in Hässelby in western Stockholm.
At 6 p.m. on Saturday, three of the houses in the neighborhood burned down, but no one is said to have been injured.
– The three houses are deemed to be completely beyond saving. The emergency services do not have control over the fire yet, and there is a risk of spreading to the next house.
– The fire started in an electric car that was parked in a garage, says Therese Blades, line operator at the rescue service.
According to the emergency services, a gas station is located near the burning houses.
– We are trying to prevent the fire from spreading there, and right now we see no risk of that, says Roger Sverndal, management operator at the rescue service, at 6 p.m.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into public negligence.
– We have cordoned off a relatively large area around the fire, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson at the police.
The alarm about the fire came just before 5 p.m.
