In a longer interview with Roger Fredriksson (M), Sydöstran wrote on Monday that security guards were stationed outside the municipal councilor’s residence and that entry procedures at City Hall have been tightened – due to Fredriksson receiving several threats via email.
But Ronneby municipality’s head of security Roland Edvinsson does not know this information.
– We have guards who check at his address. But it’s not like we need full-time guards, he says.
Based on his knowledge, there should also not have been stricter procedures introduced at the entrance to City Hall.
– It’s not something I’ve ordered anyway. Nothing out of the ordinary applies there, but we are of course vigilant.
Have daily contact
The emails that Fredriksson received are not classified as death threats according to Roland Edvinsson, but were seen as serious enough that the head of security advised Fredriksson to report to the police.
– And he has done that. But so far we have not heard anything from the police that they would see a bigger threat picture.
Edvinsson has daily contact with Roger Fredriksson to adjust the situation. He believes that there is a readiness to increase security if necessary.
– But at the moment we don’t see that.
