The WC in May is approaching and Sam Hallam’s Tre Kronor is preparing for the championship with Finnkampen. Two matches have been played in Finland and the teams won each match there.
Tonight, the first round is played in Sweden and Linköping.
Dream start
Finland got off to a dream start in the match when Hannes Björninen deliciously broke the visitors’ score after 11.19 played.
Filip Larsson in the home box was forced to see another puck cross the goal line when Joona Luoto increased Finland’s lead at 15:31.
Sweden had a numerical advantage at the end of the first period where the debutant, Jonathan Lekkerimäki, gained continued confidence.
– A bit too comfortable playing by Tre Kronor, says the commentator on air.
The fight to crack the zero
Sweden took steps in the right direction in the second period. Tre Kronor created chances but did not manage to break the Finland keeper. The second period was scoreless. The third period was the same.
The result means that Sweden has lost two straight matches against Finland. Tomorrow is the last round of the Finncamp.
