A reporter at SVT has followed the development of gang crime in Sweden for ten years.

Today, “Uppdrag gränskning” releases a series in four parts about the gang men.

– If I don’t succeed in taking you when I take your brother, you understand. If I don’t succeed in taking you, I’ll take your father, says one of the men SVT has met.

Karwan Faraj is a reporter at SVT. He has monitored the spread of gang crime in Sweden and met leaders, girlfriends, running boys, arms smugglers and torpedoes.

Now Uppdrag review releases “Skyttarna”, a series in four parts about Faraj’s work.

Several of the criminals themselves appear in the series.

“Ready to shoot someone for no reason”

They talk about assassination contracts, recruiting children – and why they don’t care if innocents are killed.

– It’s easier to get a little kid to go do things for you. To avoid getting your hands dirty, says one of them.

Another participating criminal person says that he does not hesitate to kill anyone.

– I am ready to shoot someone for no reason, without a doubt, he says.

In the program you can follow how the planning of a murder is done. How a criminal person, an unknown instigator called “Ghost” through an intermediary, a recruiter, finds a shooter.

It is about a murder to be carried out in Upplands Väsby outside Stockholm.

Double play

In the TV program you can follow the planning, how they talk about what is going to happen.

How to carry out the murder, how to fix a car and then how to arrange a place for the shooter to hide in.

The shooter first scouts and then enters the apartment building where the target lives.

For various reasons, the murder is never carried out, among other things the perpetrator and the others are unsure of exactly where he lives, which apartment it is about.

It also turns out that the shooter is guarded by the police and he is also arrested outside the house.

In the TV show, it is learned that the person called “Ghost” has played a double game.

He knows the intended target well.

He continues with new assassination missions.
