Maria got silver in the Funkisfestivalen

Runby resident Maria Carlehed represented Uppland’s Väsby in the Funkisfestivalen semi-final at Nalen in Stockholm.

Maria performed Aerosmith’s “I don’t wanna miss a thing” and competed against eleven other semi-finalists.

However, she did not advance to the final, which will be held at the Stockholm Waterfront on June 15. However, she, and the participants who did not advance, received silver and will perform at the pre-final party.

Funkisfestivalen is a Swedish singing competition for people with disabilities within LSS. Funkisfestivalen has its origins in Uppland’s Väsby, where the competition began as Väsby Melodifestival 2011.
