For those who are exposed to violence in a close relationship, the Crime Victims’ Center can step in and provide support and help with, for example, making a police report.

Due to new rules, several women’s shelters in Norrbotten are now forced to close.

At the same time, the Social Welfare Board is reducing the contributions to the Crime Victims’ Shelter’s work with support for women subjected to violence by 66 percent.

Must reduce support

Veronica Nordberg, operations manager at Brottsofferjouren Norrbotten, now sees the future as dark.

– The support we have been able to give in the past, we have to reduce, because we do not have the resources.
