Operation Women’s Freedom
Operation Kvinnofrid is a collaboration of actors in Stockholm County. They are: The Stockholm County Administrative Board, Stockholm Region, the Police Agency, Storsthlm, the Prison Service, the Prosecutor’s Office and the City of Stockholm. The actors within Operation Kvinnofrid work together so that no one in the county is exposed to or experiences violence in intimate relationships, honor-related violence and oppression, sexual violence, prostitution or human trafficking for sexual purposes. We also work to ensure that those who practice violence receive adequate support and treatment to stop the violence, and that the county’s actors develop violence prevention work with the aim of preventing violence from occurring.
Operation Kvinnofrid has developed a joint strategy with goals and associated action plan. Each year, the work is presented in a progress report to systematically monitor progress, but also measures that need further development.

Choose to quit
“Choose to stop” is a national telephone line aimed at people who practice or are at risk of practicing violence in intimate relationships. The main purpose is to motivate and guide the person who perpetrates violence against a relative to seek treatment at an activity in their municipality or via another appropriate intervention. Psychologists and therapists from Manscentrum Stockholm receive the calls.
The telephone line started as a pilot project in 2019 by the Stockholm County Administrative Board in collaboration with Manscentrum Stockholm and in collaboration with the Skåne County Administrative Board. In 2021 the telephone line became national and in 2023 the National Board of Health and Welfare took over responsibility for the telephone line. Operation Kvinnofrid’s partners contribute to spreading awareness of the telephone line based on their different roles and assignments.
