During the second and final day of President Alexander Stubb’s state visit to Sweden, the presidential couple and the Swedish royal couple visited Gothenburg.

– The king and queen possess an incredible amount of knowledge and experience, says President Alexander Stubb at the end of his two-day state visit to Sweden. The first day of the state visit was spent in Stockholm.

The president speaks warmly of Queen Silvia’s sense of history and King Carl XVI Gustaf’s long time as regent.

Stubb also describes the conversations with the royal couple in warm terms:

– It has been very informal and sincere, he says.

Alexander Stubb states during the press conference at the end of the trip that it has been a successful day. He says that the new thing he learned during the Gothenburg visit was how important the city is to Finland’s security of supply.

In addition to a visit to the University of Gothenburg and the Gothenburg Museum of Art, during the trip the president got to know the role of the Swedish defense in the Baltic Sea.

The president is asked if he will be known as a traveling president.

– It will vary according to the situation, says Alexander Stubb.

He says that it is important to have conversations and that he spoke on the phone with the president of Israel on Friday. The president states that not everything can be managed by phone and that state visits are also needed.
