JUST NOW: Big draw in Stockholm – five ambulances alerted

A large police operation is underway south of Stockholm.

On Wednesday evening, information comes that a large raid is taking place in the capital.

More precisely, it is in Gubbängen south of Stockholm that several resources are now working.

At least five ambulances are on the scene, Aftonbladet reports.

“Can confirm”

At the moment, the police do not want to confirm more than that an operation is underway.

– I can confirm that we are in Gubbängen on a case and that there are several patrols that are on site, but I cannot say more than that, says Stockholm police spokesperson Nadya Norton to Aftonbladet.

Details of attack

The police are currently investigating the incident as an assault.

According to the newspaper Expo, it is about an attack carried out by Nazis in connection with a lecture at the Moment Theatre.

According to Expo’s information, a group of masked people allegedly attacked during a political meeting.

A politician from the Left Party who was at the scene has testified to “a terrible haze of smoke”, and reports indicate that smoke bombs were thrown into the venue.

– Just before the lecture was to start, a group of masked Nazis entered the room, writes Expo.

– The Nazis attacked, both with physical violence against visitors, with defense spray and vandalized the premises before throwing some type of smoke grenade that filled the foyer with smoke.

“Come in”

Anders Carlsson Lind, chairman of the Left Party in Farsta, was present when the attack took place.

– It came rushing in, 3-5 people, dressed in black, masked. They ran into the foyer and threw at least one smoke bomb, he tells SVT.

Birgitta Lindor, who rented out the premises, continues.

– What I have heard is that people were sprayed with red paint in their faces.

According to initial information, some people have been taken to hospital with unclear injuries.

The police are still reticent with information about the incident.
