With a rumbling sound, stone, gravel and asphalt were suddenly thrown into the air. A section with pre-school children at the Surbrunnshagen pre-school was then out in the yard. Something that Falu-Kuriren was the first to report on.

– It was lucky that no one was hurt, says Anette Blomqvist, operations manager at the preschool.

NCC: An unusual event

Approximately 30 meters from the preschool, drilling work was underway for the construction of a new residential block. According to the site manager, it is an unusual event that has occurred.

– There was a sudden pressure surge and it seems that our air in the hole found its way up into an existing hole at the preschool, says Johan Gustafsson, site manager NCC and continues:

– We are of course super relieved that no one was physically injured.

What went wrong?

– Energy wells of this kind must be reported to SGU, Sweden’s Geological Survey, which is a government authority. In this case at the preschool, it does not seem to be done. That is what we currently know, says Gustafsson.

The area is now cordoned off and a further investigation is underway.
