41 percent of Swedes plan to stay at home this summer, according to a survey by Länsförsäkringar.

In the top three in the survey about where the holiday should be spent, homestays, family and friends, and the holiday home end up. Just over one in five participants state “check in at a hotel abroad”.
– It is undeniably the case that many have a strained economy as a result of the last two years’ high inflation and interest costs. For a normal family with children, the everyday costs have increased by approximately SEK 110,000 per year in the last two years. It is therefore quite reasonable that many then cut back on their holiday plans, says Stefan Westerberg, private economist at Länsförsäkringar, in a press release.
