Atea Sweden reports a stable first quarter for 2024. Gross revenue lands at SEK 4.8 billion, a percentage decrease of 2 percent compared to the same period last year. The result increases by 5 percent and lands at SEK 182 million compared to SEK 173 million in 2023.

The start of the year has been characterized by continued challenges in the outside world and increasing cyber threats. Despite that, Atea Sweden delivers a stable result during the first quarter of 2024.

Turnover in hardware is down compared to the previous year, but the company closes the order intake at a plus and at the same time wins several large contracts with delivery dates later in the year. Software and Cloud are increasing strongly and growing by 17 percent, while the development in the service business is good and contributing to the result.

– Despite a challenging environment, I am satisfied with the results in the first quarter. Steady delivery in combination with good cost control across the entire company contributes to stable figures. The hardware side has been challenging as we compare to a period last year with deliveries from an extra large pandemic-related backlog. At the same time, we are growing the software business in a nice way, and we see an improvement in the financial situation in the coming six months. The employees put in a strong performance overall during the quarter and we win several big deals, says Linus Wallin, CEO of Atea Sweden.

Security in focus for safer digitization

In the area of security, Atea continues to place great focus on the new cyber security law NIS2, and during the quarter the NIS2 day was arranged with over 500 participants during an all-day webinar. Atea presented, among other things, the company’s security offer that meets customers’ needs for compliance with the upcoming law and how security solutions from Atea’s strategic partners can facilitate.

– As the cyber threat increases, Swedish businesses need to invest in secure IT infrastructure, which drives further investments in both cloud services and the sharpest security consultants. This makes us well positioned to continue supporting customers with the right services and solutions that both secure and strengthen their businesses, says Linus Wallin.

NIS2 lays the foundation for good cyber hygiene. One of the pieces of the puzzle included is the ability to detect and manage incidents. It is a broad and resource-demanding area that spans working methods, employees and technology, which few organizations can handle on their own. Atea’s comprehensive solution SOC+ which includes both incident management (IRT) and monitoring systems is therefore highly relevant for many organizations to effectively acquire this capability.

Shows strength in challenging times with Sweden’s best meeting places

Atea Insight, where this year’s theme was about solving old challenges in new ways, broke a record this year with over 1,300 registered participants, who were embraced by inspiration and insights from some of Sweden’s sharpest individuals in AI and security.

Going forward, Atea gathers over 600 Swedish IT decision-makers at this year’s IT summit Atea Bootcamp in May under the theme Resilience and innovation – keys in challenging times. IT-Sweden needs more than ever the right conditions and resilience to be able to resist and come back, and the Swedish IT industry plays a decisive role going forward. Some of this year’s keynote speakers include Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former Secretary General of NATO and Anders Tegnell, former State Epidemiologist.

– During the Atea Bootcamp, we will explore together how we can proactively push the pace of innovation forward. More than ever before, we must both secure and streamline operations with the help of IT, not least through new AI solutions, which help our organizations become strong, enduring and resilient, says Linus Wallin.
