The May flower is a symbol that many associate with spring. But since 1907, Mayblomman has been an important force that makes a difference for children in financially vulnerable situations.

Children who live in economic vulnerability run a greater risk of poorer physical and mental health, of getting poor school results, while the children’s self-image, free time and faith in the future are negatively affected. This also applies to the children in Mölnlycke. We who are volunteers in Mölnlycke’s Mayflower Association are passionate about our mission, and we are so impressed and grateful for this year’s sales success. Thank you to all the fifth graders from the six schools – what fantastic efforts you made, absolutely incredible! Thanks to all the educators and parents who got involved to make the sale work!

Thank you to everyone who bought flowers! Think – when you sell and buy a May flower, you help a child near you. It’s about small but crucial things; a rain jacket, a pair of training shoes or perhaps the term fee for the cultural school or football club. If you come into contact with children, teenagers and families in Mölnlycke who are in need of financial support, please advise them to apply for support from us. Read more at www.majblomman.se or contact us at [email protected].

This year’s record sales mean that we will be able to help more children and teenagers in Mölnlycke than ever before. It is clear that Mölnlycke is characterized by humanity, consideration and generosity – it fills us with joy and hope.

THANKS! Åsa Borvén, Pernilla Wallén, Johanna Skoglund, Rebecca Rae, Linda Antonsson, volunteers in the Mölnlycke May Flower Association
