We call Albin Ganovic who has arranged Cabaret Candy Club then start. This year is the 15th anniversary and he is celebrating by baking caramel cakes, oat squares and…
– … I found gingerbread dough in the freezer, so I also baked gingerbread cookies (laughing).

Eventskåningen, which was nominated for last year This year’s Keep Up The Good Work on QX Gala, has grand plans for this year’s show. And grand plans equal grand performers. Dynelle Rhodes from The Weather Girlsbehind the world hit “It’s raining but”is connected to the conversation.

Tell us – what is the inspiration behind the show?
– The inspiration is The Weather Girls (laughing). I wanted the program to be a tribute to all the world’s disco divas, says Albin.

How did you get in touch with each other? And how come you are now going to do a show together?
– We met for the first time at the Helsingborg festival. And it’s no secret that I’ve been obsessed with The Weather Girls even before I knew there was a group called The Weather Girls, says Albin and Dynelle chimes in:
– You are so sweet Albin (laughing). We love you!
– I love you. But it’s true, ever since I was little and heard the song “It’s raining men” I’ve been a big fan. Everyone I know knows the lyrics to that song, says Albin.

Dynelle! The Weather Girls have a very large hbtqi+ audience that will surely hang on to the lock when the Admiral opens its doors. What would you like to say to them?
– Let it rain rainbows and let’s party all night long. Life is one big party. We have several songs dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community such as Pride Strong and our new song Super Love which comes out in May. We have music for all people, genres and occasions.

What are you most looking forward to about the show?
– That the audience comes there to enjoy the disco music. And of course – have fun, says Dynelle.
– Cabaret Candy Club’s philosophy is party, club and colors. And disco is all that, so the theme of the show represents the same philosophy, says Albin.

How does the show differ from previous years?
– Well… a lot! Because we have The Weather Girls (laughing). We haven’t done anything like this before. This year we turn 15 and we wanted to “go big or go home”. Of course we choose to go big. I am very excited and look forward to starting work on this now, says Albin and continues:
– This is also a special opportunity for the audience in southern Sweden, and all of Sweden of course, to gather in the spirit of disco.

What can the audience expect?
– You will have to wait and see, but it will be explosive, says Dynelle.
– Come see Grammy-nominated The Weather Girls who have… how many million streams now again? says Albin.
– OMG! I’ve lost count, says Dynelle.

There will be a live band and orchestra, dancers, acrobats and Albin promises the audience a sensation for all the senses.
– For the body, mind and soul!

What other songs will be played?
– Oh, there will be many disco hits. But among others I’m So Excited and We Are Family. Maybe someone Tina Turner-song and Aretha Franklin-song, says Albin and continues:
– Hopefully Dynelle will also try her hand at some Swedish words.
– Of course I will (laughing)says Dynelle.

Albin, you have arranged this for almost 15 years. What is the best thing about your job?
– Since childhood, I have loved playing with colors and when I was 14 years old, I practiced The entertainment theater in Malmö. I feel that this job is truly my calling. There is so much joy in seeing people get up and dance to the music, says Albin and continues:
– Then we become like one big family when we work on the shows. I love the community and the feeling of being part of a family.

Do you think it will be the best show yet?
– I know it will be the best show, says Albin.

Describe the show in a few words!
– Simply marvelous, says Dynelle.
– There will be glitter, feathers and disco, concludes Albin.
