The blockade – which means no overtime – applies above all to nurses, but also to the Healthcare Association’s other member groups: Midwives, biomedical analysts and X-ray nurses.
Starting at 4 pm this afternoon, 63,000 healthcare workers members of the Healthcare Association will refuse overtime and overtime. Nor can the employer make new hires of the Vårdförbundet’s member groups.
The notice still covers more healthcare workers because, according to the Healthcare Association, this also applies to unorganized workers who have conditions according to the Healthcare Association’s agreement.
As DN previously reported, the Health Care Association has calculated that members worked three million hours of overtime last year. The conflict measures therefore risk having major consequences for care.
– We constantly work overtime and overtime at my workplace. The crew depends on no one being absent or sick, and that is never the case. An overtime blockade would have major consequences, says Judith Jacobson, nurse at the medical clinic at Västmanland Hospital in Västerås.
The healthcare association has since the beginning of the year negotiated new conditions more SKR, which represents the country’s regions and municipalities, and Sobona, the municipal companies’ employers’ organization.
Despite the help of mediators, the parties have not been able to reach an agreement. The fight is about wages but above all working hours. The healthcare union wants a comprehensive shortening of working hours so that more people can work full-time. But SKR does not see this as possible due to the difficult finances of the regions and municipalities and because it is already difficult to recruit nurses.
On Wednesday, the Vårdförbundet received new contract proposals from SKR and Sobona. The union refused and came up with a counter-proposal.
– SKR and Sobona have now said no to that, and we can therefore state that we are still far from each other, says the Vårdförbundet’s head of negotiations Annelie Söderberg.
According to SKR’s head of negotiations Jeanette Hedberg no new talks are ongoing, even though the cook is ticking and the overtime blockade is approaching.
– We have stated to the Health Care Association that we are keen on continued negotiations with the support of mediators, but we have not yet received a response. We hope to get it as soon as possible as time is running out.

The notice comes into effect at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 25.
The notice consists of overtime block, overtime block and new hire block. This means no to overtime and overtime. The employer is also not allowed to hire new occupational groups of the Healthcare Association.
The blockade includes the members of the Health Association in all regions of the country, as well as four municipal companies in Stockholm: Ambulancesjukvården in Greater Stockholm, Södersjukhuset, Danderyd hospital and Capio St. Göran hospital.
The professional groups included are nurses, midwives, biomedical analysts and radiology nurses. Managers of other specialist functions are also covered by the notice.
Since the beginning of the year, contract negotiations on wages and conditions have been ongoing between the Health Confederation and Sweden’s municipalities and regions, SKR, and Sobona, the municipal companies’ employer organization.
