During the spring, negotiations took place between SKR and Vårdförbundet with the aim of agreeing on a new collective agreement to regulate wages and employment conditions. Since the negotiations between SKR and Vårdförbundet did not result in any agreement, the notified conflict measures are now being activated.

For Region Gotland, the conflict means a blockade against additional and overtime work as well as new employment of notified professional groups. Those affected by the conflict are members of the Vårdförbundet who are employed as nurses, midwives, biomedical analysts, radiology nurses and specialists within the aforementioned groups and unit managers.

Region Gotland assesses that it will be a very strained situation for health and medical services during the period that the conflict is ongoing. The work of creating a summary picture of the situation in the various operations takes place continuously. Region Gotland will ensure emergency care and care that cannot wait.

This is how healthcare is currently affected

  • There is a risk that planned operations and clinic visits will be canceled and postponed. Affected patients will then be contacted by the operation.
  • There may be longer waiting times on the phone.

This is how home health care and care is currently affected

  • Patients in home healthcare can be affected by postponing or rescheduling visits. Affected patients will then be contacted by the operation.
  • Users in elderly care and care for people with disabilities who have contact with the facilities’ nurses are probably not affected. Users who may be affected will then be contacted by the business.
