It was last Tuesday evening at 8 pm that the police received an alert about the event that would put the city in a state of shock. Two children were found dead and two adult guardians were arrested on the spot on suspicion of murder, after which one was released the following evening.
The school the children attended held a memorial service today at All Saints Church in Södertälje.
– It is important in crises like these that you keep it as normal as possible, because it creates security. So we have tried to stick to our usual routines but of course with flexibility, says Katarina Montenius who is the principal of the school where the dead children attended.
The municipality’s family support
In Södertälje municipality, there is the Family Support unit for those who want or need to talk and get help and support. They also have an advice and support phone for the same purpose that can be reached on weekdays during the day.
