The citizens are positive about the Swedish healthcare, but much can be improved, writes Peter J Olsson on the Barometer’s editorial page.

He reminds us that we are living longer and longer, that innovation in healthcare has developed rapidly and that mortality has decreased in several areas.

“However, the fact that care is getting better and better does not rule out that there is much to be gained by making better use of resources. Bottlenecks such as surgery teams and care places for those operated on should, for example, be eliminated. And specialization could result in more operations with even higher quality. Healthcare in Sweden is of high quality, but it can be even better,” writes Peter J Olsson on Barometern’s editorial page.
