In 2017, the government gave the county administrations some strengthened tasks regarding gender equality work. One mission involves developing regional resource centers for children and adults who are exposed or at risk of being exposed to honor-related violence and oppression.

Currently, 11 counties participate in the resource center initiative, which is coordinated by the National Center against honor-related violence and oppression (NCH) at the Östergötland County Administrative Board. But to strengthen support for the vulnerable and those at risk of being exposed to honor-related violence and oppression, more resource center activities are needed.

– They fulfill an important function by being a long-threshold activity that can offer support to people who are not ready for or in need of an official contact, says Hana Durakovic, administrator at NCH.

Information session 22 May

Next year, there will be an opportunity for new counties to apply for the resource center investment via the county administrations. Do you want to hear more about what the resource center investment means before the announcement of new funds? Then register for NCH’s digital information event on May 22, 2024. A project manager from an existing resource center operation also talks about his experiences.
