The award, which is awarded by Partille municipality and Business Region Gothenburg in collaboration with Företagarna Partille, aims to draw attention to local companies with potential for continued growth. Vis Productions has impressed by combining reality and fantasy in its works and is considered a role model in creative development and innovation. In addition to the honor, the company also receives a year’s membership in a growth program. The award was handed out during Partille municipality’s business evening, where other prominent local companies were also recognized.

– With the award, we want to give successful local companies a well-deserved push forward and a chance to refine their strategy for continued development and long-term profitability, says Marith Hesse, (M), chairman of the municipal board in Partille.

The award was presented to Sofia Sjölin and Victor Sjölin at Vis Productions by Marith Hesse, chairman of the municipal board in Partille together with Thorbjörn Carlsson, vice chairman of the municipal board and Birgitta “Git” Petersson Nordh, business advisor at Business Region Gothenburg at Partille municipality’s business evening on April 25.

The family business from Sävedalen was extremely happy about the price and a little overwhelmed by everything.
– It feels great, it feels so… What’s it called? Almost surreal, says Sofia Sjölin. Victor Sjölin fills in.
– Yes, it feels surreal.

But you weren’t prepared at all?
– No, we were so terribly pleased to be nominated. We kind of thought that, yes, but what fun and that was all there was to it. Victor says.

How do you think they found you?
– So we know that we have had, so purely on paper, we have had a rocket in recent years. Then we lost everything during covid, we were completely broke. Because then you put down everything that had to do with the audience and the event, says Sofia. Victor fills in.
– Then we fought, fought and fought. The numbers show that it is only going up now.

What is the story behind the company?
– I have a great passion for this and have worked with shows all my life. I have been at Liseberg for many years and worked with the entertainment there. I have worked as a teacher at Wendelsberg folk high school on the show line. I have had a great passion for this all my life. And when I was young, I was out on tour myself as a dancer, singer and in theater, says Sofia.

– From my side, it was that I went and studied. I wanted to start working in film production. And then I went and studied in the United States. I was there for four years studying and living in Los Angeles. And then after that I came back home. I needed to start being able to invoice customers and then we started a company that has grown to be where we are today, says Victor.

– And I probably have to thank my son Victor for pushing my mother to dare to take the step to create her own. And now it’s the best thing I’ve done, says Sofia.

What is it like to have a family business together?
– It’s a lot of work. But I think we can be straight and open with each other. And then we really decided that we are not mother and son at work. We are colleagues there.
At home we have the private and at work we have work, they say at the same time.

Why are you called VIS Productions?
– Vis Productions, Victor and Sofia, V and S. Then my sister Ida, who is also in the company, is called V, I, S. Then Vis is short for wisdom, which we liked. You also have that it is an abbreviation for visualize in English. Then it is also the case that my grandmother, who is no longer with us, was called Siv. Which then is Vis backwards, says Victor with a whimsical smile and mother Sofia nods in agreement.

– We should also mention Arvid Smith and Anton Rundfors. Because together we are five partners in the company, says Sofia, before they continue mingling at the business evening in Partille town hall.

If you have seen advertising for Furuviksparken, Gröna Lund and Liseberg, it is the company behind it. Also costumes for Danny Deluxe and Unibet’s commercial with Glenn Hysen to name a few.

Two other Partille companies, Gelnet Elteknik AB which delivers high-quality solutions in electricity, telecommunications, data and alarms, and Ads4you Partille AB with advertising production and assembly as its expertise, were also nominated finalists for Development Company of the Year 2024 and were noticed in connection with the announcement of the award winner.
