From the justification:

Janina Priebe is an extremely successful researcher in an international perspective. Priebe’s research profile concerns the northern and arctic areas and how the relations between the global and the local are mutually reshaped when climate change and environmental policy create new challenges and opportunities.

Priebe has participated and taken great responsibility in the management and development of several major research applications at Umeå University and SLU, which also received significant external funding.

Janina Priebe is therefore proposed as a very worthy recipient of the award as young outstanding researcher in the humanities and arts in 2024

The prize sum in 2024 is SEK 20,000. The prize is awarded in connection with the Royal The Skytean Society’s annual celebration on May 24 in Umeå, as well as at a suitable ceremony at Umeå University. The prize winner is also expected to write a shorter popular science article in the Society’s yearbook Thule.
