The program for the book festival is out

--

On Thursday evening, the program release for Rinkeby book festival 2024 was held. Among the around thirty guests were local residents, volunteers and the occasional literary profile.

The evening began with the hosts Rinkeby Folkets Hus offering a food buffet and mingling, as well as a short welcome speech. Afterwards, operations manager Fardosa Omar led a conversation with the secret guest, SVT Babel’s presenter Jessica Gedin. They talked, among other things, about Rinkeby’s importance with the Nobel in Rinkeby and Tensta, the suburb’s potential for literature and about the “inertia” in a traditional publishing industry.

– This is the place where Nobel laureates come to meet students and readers, they don’t do that anywhere else, Jessica Gedin said.

Some of the program points raised in the conversation and by the guests ahead of this year’s festival were “Sweden as science fiction” to be held between Johannes Anyuru and host Jerry Määttä, “Intimate trusts” with Lina Wolff, Sami Said and Carl Hamilton, as well as children’s and the youth program on Saturday.

They also mentioned “Sweden during the Second World War”, where the historian Henrik Berggren talks to “among others” Johanna Ringarp (as well as Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, editor’s note).
