Did you also put on a hat and gloves after the cold took hold last week?

Get changed – now it’s time to put on your shorts and take out your sunglasses.

Already next week it will be over 20 degrees in parts of Sweden.

Time and again, the April weather, with the help of zero degrees, rain and snow, has crushed all dreams of spring warmth. Many have probably asked: when will it arrive?

– That is the big question, says Lasse Rydqvist, meteorologist at Klart.

– The latest reports say that the heat will come after Sunday and may remain throughout week 18, he continues.

It gets the warmest here

And it’s not just any heat that’s coming – but a 20-degree one.

– It’s that Spanish matador heat that reaches Götaland during the day on Sunday, says Lasse Rydqvist.

The Matador heat – a low pressure that travels up from Spain at the same time as a high pressure is over Russia, will spread over parts of southern Sweden.

– The warmest looks to be Tuesday and Wednesday when it looks like it will be the most sunny, with a maximum of 23 degrees in southern and western Götaland.

This means that it is warm enough to call it a meteorological summer, which occurs when it has been at least ten degrees five days in a row.

Then it will be cooler – again

But perhaps it is too early to proclaim that summer is here. The following week it will be colder again.

– Colder air from the north takes over again. It is very difficult to see in detail so far ahead, but we will find it difficult to reach 15 degrees in the south and double digits in the north, says Lasse Rydqvist.
