The girl’s parents last heard from her at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday when she was returning home on her bicycle after distributing newspapers in the village of Kirkerup, in Denmark.

But 13-year-old Filippa did not come home as planned and now a large search effort is underway in the area with, among other things, technicians, drones, dogs and a helicopter.

– We look at the matter with the utmost seriousness. And we want to urge anyone who has information about Fillippa’s disappearance to contact us as soon as possible on 114. We are interested in all information, says police inspector Kim Kliver to Ekstra Bladet.

The 13-year-old’s father tells the newspaper that they were spoken to shortly after she finished her newspaper route. Filippa was then on her way to meet a friend.

– She was going to meet a friend who couldn’t get hold of her, and then called us. So it must have happened around 11.45, he says.

Later, the family found her bike, bag and phone on a roadside not far away.

– We found the bicycle that had been thrown to the side, and there are no signs that she drove it herself, says the father.
