The Dallas Stars managed to break their losing streak in the semi-final series of the NHL playoffs against the Vegas Golden Knights. Dallas took a 3–2 overtime victory to cut the series to 1–3.
Joe Pavelski emerged as a great hero in Dallas. The 38-year-old veteran struck in overtime with his ninth playoff goal of the season. Dallas took advantage of a ejection and Pavelski scored the winning goal on the power play just over three minutes into overtime, set up by Miro Heiskanen and Roope Hintz.
Jason Robertson also had a great game for Dallas. The skilled Robertson poked in both of Dallas’ goals from close range in regular time. When goalkeeper Jake Oettinger also played great with 37 saves, Dallas managed to extend the match series.
Dallas played without their captain Jamie Benn who was serving the first of his two game suspension.
Of the Finns, Miro Heiskanen and Roope Hintz were noted for 0+2, while Esa Lindell was responsible for a goal-scoring pass.
Dallas must continue to play in the series with a knife to its throat, while Vegas has three more opportunities to secure its place in the finals. The following match will be played on the night of Sunday in Las Vegas.
