A 72-year-old man has been killed by about 40 crocodiles after he was dragged into an enclosure at his family’s reptile farm, according to police in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The man was trying to move a crocodile out of a cage where it had laid eggs, when the reptile grabbed the man’s stick and pulled him into the enclosure. A large group of crocodiles then attacked the man and tore him to pieces.
– The crocodile attacked the stick while the man tried to chase the crocodile out of an egg-laying cage, says the police chief May Savry.
– Then other crocodiles pounced and attacked him until he was dead.
There are several crocodile farms around Siem Reap. In 2019, crocodiles ate a two-year-old girl at a reptile farm in the same village as the one that has now suffered a new tragedy.
