The police authority is Sweden’s largest authority with approximately 35,000 employees and is organized into seven police regions, a number of national departments and an office. The authority is in the midst of extensive growth that will continue for the next few years. This is to be able to meet the challenges of the future. The police authority is in an expansive phase, therefore new police stations need to be built and the standard of several premises raised. The authority does not own any premises, but instead rents approximately 1.7 million square meters.

Local Supply Unit’s task is to ensure that the authority has appropriate premises in the short and long term. The local supply unit is located throughout the country and consists of three sections: administration, projects and development.

Property Management Section is responsible for existing premises and is the interface between the core business that uses the premises and our property owners to ensure that the premises function based on the needs of the business and current requirements. The section is organized into eight groups: South, West, East, Stockholm, Bergslagen, North, Middle and the group for national sections. The groups are responsible for the premises within their respective geographical areas.

Now we are looking for a group manager for group Mitt. As a group manager, you will lead a group of 5-6 employees located within my region’s geographical area. The employees are placed in the Police Region’s three different police areas to be close to the operations. Travel occurs in the service to visit employees and operations, primarily within the group’s geographical area of ​​responsibility.

Job description

The assignment as group manager for the local supply unit

As a group manager within the section, you report to the section manager and are part of the property management section’s management team, where you are jointly responsible for completing assignments and driving the authority’s change and development work. The group manager is ultimately responsible for the finances of the objects included in the management portfolio as well as financially responsible for the local adaptation projects carried out within the group. You have particular responsibility for the group’s operations in the southern area and its results. As a group leader, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.

As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that assumes we follow the law and treat people equally. Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • at least a couple of years of continuous experience of having worked as a supervisor, group manager, or similar with personnel responsibility during the last five-year period
  • experience of participating in change and development work
  • experience in property management
  • relevant degree/education for the function
  • good experience of many external relationships with property owners, contractors and the like
  • B driver’s license
  • Swedish citizenship

We consider it meritorious if, in addition to this, you also have:

  • experience in leading others towards set goals and results
  • experience of having been part of a management group or management forum
  • management and leadership training for direct level
  • experience in project management
  • experience in budget work
  • experience of the police organization’s activities that the employer deems relevant
