– My very first official visit was to Finland. And today you make your first state visit – to Sweden. It is a tradition that says something about the very special ties between Sweden and Finland, said Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at a joint press conference.
Ulf Kristersson and Alexander Stubb had a bilateral meeting in Rosenbad where they discussed, among other things, Europe’s defense capabilities. The leaders also talked about the countries’ cooperation in NATO and the upcoming summit in Washington in July.
– We have spent the last hour discussing how Europe takes greater responsibility for our own security – including with strong defense industrial companies – but also an even greater responsibility for Ukraine as an independent nation. The support to Ukraine is necessary for Ukraine’s security, but also as we say time and time again for the security of Finland and Sweden, said Ulf Kristersson.
After the meeting in Rosenbad, the Prime Minister and the President participated in a business seminar with a large number of representatives of Swedish and Finnish companies.
