“The pressure on households and companies is easing even if the geopolitical risks remain”, they add.

According to the Nordea economists two years of stagnation has pushed back resource utilization in the Swedish economy, but not in any dramatic way. They currently expect weak growth this year of 0.4 percent, followed by growth of 1.9 percent in 2025.

Inflation is expected to fall below the Riksbank’s inflation target this year, to an average of 1.9 percent, and continue to fall even deeper in 2025 to an average of 1.7 percent.

Nordea’s unemployment forecast peaks this year at 8.4 percent, up from 7.7 percent last year, and falls back to 8.2 percent in 2025.
