The planned dike will be just over two miles long and it will protect against rising sea levels and extreme weather. It will take ten years to build and it has been discussed and planned for just as long.
Sets the standard
The embankment, or the wall that it will be about on certain stretches, will be three meters high. They start with 200 meters of embankment in Ljunghusen and the project is considered so important that the state has stepped in with SEK 72 million. The building is also considered to set the standard for similar buildings elsewhere in the country.
Split opinions
