He got the opponents to take ejections while he got away with a cheeky tripping on Tyler Bertuzzi, among other things.
– He is a world-class player, but it is incredible how he gets away with everything he does. “No other player in the league does that,” commented Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe during his press conference after the night’s game.

Matthew Knies, who gave the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead with just over six minutes left in the second period, also had opinions about Marchand.
– He tried to get under our skin, but I thought we were good at staying away from that crap he’s doing.
The disappointment was great for the home team that they could not maintain the momentum they acquired after the tie to 2-2 with just over eight minutes remaining.
– We have to get better at exploiting the advantage when the games swing. And our power play has to be more efficient, said Mitch Marner, who played until the 1-0 goal.
In addition to the two goals, Brad Marchand also had an assist in the game.
He was praised by teammate Jake DeBrusk after the final whistle.
– It’s great that Brad got a dividend now, too, after all the work he contributes in the close matches. “He’s incredibly important to us,” DeBrusk said.
Boston’s Hampus Lindholm was the only Swede on the ice who ended up in the scoring record. He was involved in assisting Trent Frederic’s 1-1 goal.
Toronto won 3-2 in Boston on Monday to even the game at 1-1, but with tonight’s loss, they lost that advantage of having won a road game.
The Bruins now have the advantage with 2-1 in games in the round of 16.
The fourth meeting is also decided in the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on the night of Sunday, Swedish time.
