The Stockholm district court has today announced the verdict regarding the fatal shooting on Vanadisvägen on September 13, 2023. The court sentences a 19-year-old man to life imprisonment for murder and an 18-year-old woman at the time of the crime for aiding and abetting murder to ten years in prison. Both must pay damages to the victim’s relatives and to the estate. A third, a 17-year-old man at the time of the crime, is acquitted of responsibility for aiding and abetting murder or preparing or abetting murder.

The district court has found that the background to the murder was a conflict within the Foxtrot network which, among other things, included a murder on 7 September 2023 in Uppsala of one of the leading people’s mother.

The 19-year-old man, together with others, planned the murder and through messages on various messaging services tricked the plaintiff to the place where he was shot. He has also obtained the getaway car and driven the “shooter” to the vicinity of the crime scene where he dropped him off, waited and then, after the murder, drove the person from there. The district court has found that his role overall has been so central that he is to be regarded as an accomplice to the murder. In light of the fact that it was a gang conflict, that the murder was planned, that the plaintiff was lured to the scene of the crime in a suggested manner and that the murder was to be considered an execution, the penalty has been set at life imprisonment.

The 18-year-old woman is convicted of helping to trick the plaintiff to the crime scene by sending him a message from another person’s snapchat account where she pretended to be the owner of the account and then providing another person with access to this account, which was then used for the same purpose. Her actions have been judged to be decisive in terms of luring the plaintiff to the scene.

The man and the woman have mainly denied responsibility on the basis that they did not know that they had been involved in any murder, but believed that their actions were taken within the framework of a drug deal and that they therefore had no intent to murder. However, the district court has, through the evidence presented, found it beyond reasonable doubt that they had intent to murder.
