In March, we wrote about Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s claim that Apple planned an international rollout of its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset in 2024, with up to 800,000 units produced.

Now Kuo is back with a new forecast, saying that Apple has in fact overestimated interest in the Vision Pro. Kuo makes the assessment based on the fact that before the upcoming international launch of the headset, Apple reduced production in the United States, because interest from the consumer side was unexpectedly cool.

Ming-Chi Kuo speculates that Apple rather foresees that between 400,000 and 450,000 units will be able to be sold in 2024, thus far from 800,000, and that the company is now reviewing whether to completely scrap plans to release a new model by Vision Pro 2025.

Vision Pro was released at the beginning of the year and received both rice and praise. The criticism was mainly about the high price tag and that the headset is heavy.
